Metro Boomin says album with Future is likely coming in 2023
Metro Boomin and Future have been one of the best producer and rapper duos, over the past decade. The two have put out plenty of major records together. This includes the recent “Superhero,” which also included Chris Brown. That record initially appeared on Metro’s sophomore album, “Heroes & Villains,” which became his third straight overall number one album. Metro also sold part of his catalog this week, for $70 million.
However, it appears that Metro also has a joint album coming this year, with Future. He spoke about this project, in a new interview with FLAUNT magazine. Metro appeared on this cover, as it was revealed this week. As a result, Metro is confident that he and Future will put out their joint album, sometime in 2023.
“Definitely. I would bet on it. I would definitely bet on it. [Future] actually finished most of the album at my studio in L.A. That’s my brother, but we’re working on some things. At first, we were going to put a couple of songs with me and him on the album, but we had took them off because I had talked to him.”
Future is also fresh off of releasing his “I Never Liked You” album, last spring. As a result, that became his seventh straight number one studio album. The “Wait For U” single featuring Drake and Tems also topped the Billboard Hot 100, and won a Grammy for Best Melodic Rap Performance.
