Pharrell becomes Louis Vuitton’s Men’s Creative Director
In the fall of 2021, the music and fashion industry lost a beloved icon, in Virgil Abloh. At the time, Abloh was the founder of the fashion brand Off-White, as well as the creative director at Louis Vuitton. Abloh initially passed away from a rare form of cancer, which many did not know about. As a result, there have since been multiple LV fashion shows and sneaker releases held, in his honor.
However, Louis Vuitton has also now named a new creative director. This will officially be Pharrell Williams. This move was confirmed by LV Chairman & CEO Pietro Beccari. Pharrell will have his first collection with LV launching next June, during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. Pharrell previously collaborated with LV in 2004 and 2008.
“Louis Vuitton is delighted to welcome Pharrell Williams as its new Men’s Creative Director. His first collection for Louis Vuitton will be revealed next June during Men’s Fashion Week in Paris. Pharrell Williams is a visionary whose creative universes expand from music to art, and to fashion – establishing himself as a cultural global icon over the past twenty years.”
This comes after Pharrell released a new single in November, with Travis Scott. This was “Down In Atlanta,” as that had been a highly anticipated released for fan bases of both artists.
