Plies talks “Purple Heart” and more with “The Breakfast Club” [VIDEO]

Plies Breakfast ClubIn 2006, Miami began making a concentrated effort to take over the rap game and by 2008 there were several stars from the area. Much of the credit goes to DJ Khaled for assembling the team, but these artists belonged to different labels. Still, they all came together for the We the Best movement and Plies was an early star.

Plies enjoyed a strong run during the 2008-2009 period, which saw him drop two albums in the same year. Since then, Plies has played a background role, while others like Rick Ross and Ace Hood have had runs. But, Plies is now ready to release his new album, Purple Heart, his first album in three years.

Already, Plies talked to Hot 97 about his album and now he stopped by Power 105.1 to talk to “The Breakfast Club.” Once again, Charlamagne Tha God, Angela Yee, and DJ Envy had Plies in the hot seat, grilling him, and cracking him up. Plies reflected on his past hits and spoke on his new album.
