SZA’s “SOS” album goes platinum after 7-week run at number one 

SZA’s “SOS” album has been dominant over the past month and a half, as it spent seven straight weeks at number one in the US, on the Billboard 200 chart. It was initially released on December 9, after SZA announced that date during her “Saturday Night Live” appearance.

SOS has reached many different historic milestones since its release, including having the biggest R&B streaming week ever, after its opening week. SZA has also now reached platinum status in the US, according to Chart Data. This comes after selling over 1 million units in the US.

SZA received several other certifications from songs off of SOS, as well. This includes “Kill Bill” going platinum and “Good Days” going 4x platinum. 23 songs were released on SOS, including collaborations with Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, and the late Ol’ Dirty Bastard. 20 out of the 23 songs initially debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

SOS was also SZA’s first number one album, snd her first album since summer 2017’s “Ctrl.” At the time, that was her debut album, and went on to see a number three debut in the US.
