Some people go to bizarre lengths to illustrate their dislike of others. Honestly, it’s sad because these people are expending more effort to be cruel than it would take to be kind. As a result, people who normally don’t cause problems are forced to defend themselves. Yesterday, a video went viral showing a woman having to defend herself on her birthday. All she wanted to do was eat breakfast at the hotel. For her efforts, she ended up having to wipe someone else’s spit off her face.
It’s often said that the worst thing you can do to a person is to spit on them. Other offenses definitely including putting hands on a person. A slap to the face is a deep offense. However, in the eyes of most, it pales in comparison to spit. Furthermore, to go to those lengths should mean something truly out of hand has taken place. Of course, during certain periods of time in American culture, certain groups of people did this to other groups to assert dominance.
A video on Twitter went viral, as a Black woman shared her experience. According to the woman, she was simply trying to celebrate her birthday. She was at a hotel trying to take advantage of the breakfast, but was met with opposition. For whatever reason, a White woman who didn’t work at the hotel tried to deny her entry. After telling her she couldn’t eat there, she spit in the woman’s face. As a result, the Black woman literally beat her down to the ground. After that, the White woman apologized.
