Will Packer says LAPD were prepared to arrest Will Smith at Oscars

The buzz is still strong on social media, regarding Will Smith’s infamous slap on Chris Rock at the Oscars, last weekend. There was speculation that Smith was asked to leave the Dolby Theatre after the incident, but then later reports stated that producer Will Packer did not want him gone.

Many wondered if Rock would go on to decide to file a police report and file charges, but he made the decision not to do so. More information is also surfacing, regarding the aftermath of the slap.

In a new video which previews Packers’ upcoming “Good Morning America” interview, he says that LAPD were ready to arrest Smith, if Rock wanted them to. If Smith was arrested, he would’ve been hit with a battery charge. This full interview is set to air on Friday morning.

The slap initially went down, due to Rock making a joke about Jada Pinkett’s hairloss condition. That was done with a “GI Jane” joke, which resulted in Smith approaching Rock, and slapping him. Smith ended up going back to his seat, and began constantly yelling “Keep my wife’s name out of your f*cking mouth!”
