Young Thug and Gunna have been incarcerated since early May, due to a 56-count RICO indictment. This also included 26 other members of their YSL crew. They’re accused of murder, RICO crimes, and other criminal street gang activities.

Thug and Gunna have since been denied requests to post bond, three times. It’s been expected that their trials would start in January 2023. However, a motion was recently filed by Fulton Country District Attorney Fani Willis to delay the trial, to March. This was done in order to make sure that Thug and Gunna’s co-defendants would finally be able to get legal representation.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution now reports that a judge has denied this motion, and YSL’s RICO case will begin in January, as planned. Those without lawyers might end up taking the stand separately, though. But, prosecutors want every YSL member on trial all together.

“Most of these people have no bonds,” Judge Glanville. That is something that weighs heavily on the court in terms of a start date for this trial,” he explained of his decision. “They deserve to have a right to go to trial.”

Jury selection for this case is on January 5. Many expect a lot of these YSL members to possibly receive life sentences. On Friday, photos also surfaced of Thug and Gunna in jail, as Thug was still all smiles.
