Kanye West explains Yeezy Gap clothes being sold in trash bags

A few days ago, photos went viral of items from Kanye West’s Yeezy Gap apparel, at a Gap retail store. Items were seen in trash bags, as a fan claimed that Kanye made employees have these items in those bags, instead of hangers. Employees also supposedly couldn’t help customers find their sizes, and they had to sort through the trash bags, on their own.

However, Kanye is responding to the criticism he’s been receiving online, in a new interview on Fox News. He claims that he’s an innovator, and is simply blaming hate on the media, for how he’s handling Yeezy Gap sales. Kanye also claimed that the bags are “construction bags,” and not trash bags.

“Look man, I’m an innovator,” Kanye explained to Fox News. “And I’m not here to sit up and apologize about my ideas. That’s exactly what the media tries to do. Make us apologize for any idea that doesn’t fall under exactly the way they want us to think.”

Kanye initially signed a 10-year deal with Gap, in the summer of 2020. They’ve since sold items such as jackets and hoodies.
